More real world example is Linux....Even though RHEL was more of an OSS, RedHat did throw its Hat in the ring (not pun intended)...also Amazon and MS also made there versions of Linux for the Cloud which in trun limited the users choice...seems like My cloud.....My rules...

Few more reasons Amazon SS not being able to provide any helpful support::::
- In case of running any POC`s which don't qualify for any urgent support because its not business critical
- Testing and developing any Custom solution including IAC deployment
